ROCK, W.Va. — Paranormal investigators, haunted house lovers, and supernatural seekers: mark your calendars. The inaugural Haunt Fest is set to summon the spirits this Saturday at the notoriously haunted Lake Shawnee Abandoned Amusement Park, one of the most chilling paranormal hotspots in the country.

Running from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Haunt Fest brings together over 90 vendors specializing in haunted attractions, horror memorabilia, metaphysical tools, paranormal tech, occult goods, and more. But the real thrill begins after dark.

👁 Into the Shadows: Night Investigation Begins

From 8:00 p.m. to midnight, the event transitions into a live paranormal investigation of Lake Shawnee’s deeply haunted grounds. This isn’t just for show—many attendees report first-hand experiences with unexplained phenomena during past investigations.

🧠 Workshops, Panels & Paranormal Stars

Throughout the day, attendees can immerse themselves in:

  • Workshops on ghost hunting, spirit communication, and energy work

  • Guest speakers from across the haunted tourism and paranormal research world

  • Live appearances by leading figures in the supernatural scene, including:

    • Theryn Beyond the Veil

    • Jason Kenzie

    • ...and more names from your haunted TikTok, YouTube, and streaming queues

🕯 Why Lake Shawnee for Haunt Fest?

The location itself is legend. With documented history going back over 2,000 years, Lake Shawnee Abandoned Amusement Park has a documented legacy of violence, tragedy, and spiritual unrest. According to Chris White, owner and "Keeper" of the site:

“People come here because they crave the strange, the unknown. Lake Shawnee has layers—Indigenous history, settler conflict, accidents. It’s active.”

Pamela Huff, co-founder of Appalachian Ghost Tours, who hosts Haunt Fest, added:

“We’ve investigated this location for years. We know the energy here is real. That’s why Haunt Fest had to happen here.”
